Near the top of my list of 'must photograph things' while I was in South Australia was a salt lake... South Australia has plenty and after a few hours on the road they started popping up but it was another few hours before I found the right one to shoot.

While exploring the lake I found what looked like starfish frozen in the salt.... I'm still not 100% sure how these shapes came to be but they are the perfect feature on the vast expanse of the flats.
